It was another early start but a ride into an unknown on the availability of getting water along the way. The lady in the hotel guaranteed that I would see rattlesnakes along the road. I saw none.
It was another long day with hot and dry weather and no trees. For the most part there were cross winds that did not seem to impede me too much. My goal was to make it to Lake Sheridan and stay at the Lake Sheridan Bible Church. It was another small town but with a church that opened its doors to cyclists. The church was new and had a great place to cook and sleep. Shortly after I arrived a couple of young west bound cyclists, Amanda and Afton, and brother/sister group arrived. They did not have the best equipment and it has surprised me that they made it this far, but they had determination. I gifted them my bear spray because I will not need it.
The pastor that ran the church came by and introduced himself. He at one time operated a church in Minnesota and frequently went fishing in northern Manitoba. It is a small world. As i was speaking with the pastor another thunderstorm hit and it was the worst yet. Later I learned that more than 2 inches of water fell in less than 1 hour. That is a lot of rain for this very dry part of the state.
